Welcome to TekkaRats! We have been providing exceptional pups to handpicked
adopters since 2001! Our litters are carefully bred for a balance of personality,
type and, of course, health and longevity. Our commitment to breeding the
best shines through in the show ring, as well as in your home!
While focusing on both Dumbo and Standard ear types as well as Rex and Satin
coats, we at TEK choose to dedicate our energies towards breeding to improve
whole rat. While we breed to RSA standards we also have a variety of provisional
and "new" varieties in our rattery.

Waiting List:
Due to our waiting list spiraling out of control and our hiatus from the
breeding, we now have a new system of keeping track of potential adopters.
If you are interested in a pup from one of our
current or upcoming litters or were previously on our waiting list,
please contact us. Keep in mind that we can't always update the webpage
as much as we'd like (though we try!). If you have a question about the
availability of pups - please ask!
Limited Breedings:
We have decided to breed a limited number of litters per year and
will be focusing on satin rexes and roans. If you are interested in being
placed on our waiting list for pet only pups from these litters please find
our application page here.

Downunders and Roans!
TEK was one of the initial ratteries in the United States to receive rats
with Downunder markings(we started with 2 "pure" Australian rats
from the first import). We've been working on improving size and type, as
well as instilling them with the friendly personalities our lines are known
for. I'm pleased to say they've progressed in leaps and bounds and are wonderful,
quirky additions to your family!
Roans are born dark in color and fade gradually as they age (sometimes to almost pure white!). We've been working with this gene for over 5 years and love the unique markings and quirky personalities these guys have! Soon we'll be adding darker colors (Black and Russian Blue)into the Roans in hopes to prolong the fading process.
